In days past when speaking of animation on television, immediately thought of a true duck Donald’s name, or a mouse named Mickey, or perhaps even a duck or a mouse named Jerry Lucas names but these days the animation genre of television has adopted a totally new person.
The era of Disney and Hanna-Barbera has given way to a new generation of comedians, comedy angst driven animation, the content of what is sometimes more suitable for viewing in the bedroom of the playroom. The last two decades have seen the emergence of such animated programs as The Simpsons, South Park, Futurama and Family Guy, which are directly aimed at an adult audience.
Humor always revolves around the politically incorrect thoughts of some of the characters in these programs, and it seems that the most politically incorrect-reflections, the greater the popularity of the respective program. Perhaps the relatively anonymous nature of animation, rather than a show with real actors, lends itself to an approach that requires less borders.
Family Guy is a perfect example of this new model of television animation. Family Guy was created by Seth MacFarlane for Fox Broadcasting Company. The program has won three Emmy awards, three Annie Awards and a Golden Reel.
First, adorned our television screens in 1999 and has now completed its eighth season. Family Guy is a fictional town called Quahog, Rhode Island. It tells the story of an ordinary family not far below the surface of the surface is morbidly dysfunctional.
The family consists of Peter and Lois Griffin and his three sons, Chris, Meg and Stewie baby, and the family dog, Brian. Chris agrees with her father about her intelligence (or lack thereof) and the level of obesity, Meg is a never ending quest and success, popularity among peers, and baby Stewie is an evil genius greed power and works tirelessly towards the destruction of their naive mother, Lois. The family dog, Brian, besides having the remarkable ability (for a dog) to talk, sip martinis and attempts to address issues of life, of which there are many in the scene of Family Guy. His intelligence is in sharp contrast with the majority of the members of the family.
It seems that sometimes the reason for programs like Family Guy (aside from making lots of money) is the subject of judicial controversy, and the best way to do that to offend people. The producers of Family Guy when it certainly shows a girl with Down syndrome, who supposedly was the daughter of a former governor of Alaska women. The former royal governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin is the mother of a child with Down syndrome and rightly offended by the representation. Of course, this advertising program ratings no harm, and unfortunately, the behavior of the creators of the show is rewarded.
In conclusion we can say that if you can overlook these transgressions, then there is little humor and entertainment that is worth experiencing to see Family Guy.
